School Self-Evaluation

A school self- evaluation of teaching and learning in Scoil Mhuire Naofa has been ongoing in the school since November 2012, since the introduction of the National Strategy for Literacy and Numeracy.  The staff identified numeracy as the focus for school self-evaluation for the school year 2015-2016 with special emphasis on the strand “Measures.”

Information was collected from the following sources as part of the School Self Evaluation process:

  1. Analysis of Drumcondra Maths standardised test results by Miriam Ryan, Maths lecturer in St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra to determine focus area for improvement in the school year 2012-2013
  2. Parent questionnaire circulated to all parents in respect of each of their children in the final term of the school year 2014-2015
  3. Pupil questionnaire – In order to gain the pupils’ perspective, a questionnaire was administered to all pupils in Third & Sixth Class in the school year 2014-2015
  4. Questionnaire circulated to the pupils of Sixth Class to gain information on ways to promote and challenge the high achievers
